Sister Saturday

Name Change

As announced last month, Sister Saturday has a new name (Sister Safety) and a new time. It will be on Monday, Nov. 14, 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. in Sneed Hall.

We are living in an uncertain world and must constantly be on the lookout for dangers to ourselves both from without and within. This years’ topics will cover some things of which we need to be aware to protect ourselves and our loved ones. Public Information Officer Jeb Hilton, with the Amarillo Police Department, will talk about how to prevent women from becoming victims. His talk will be followed by a question and answer session.

The second part of our evening will have Tammy Smith speaking on depression, suicide, bullying and other topics that affect women of all ages. Tammy worked as a school counselor for 13 years and is presently an intern at the counseling offices of Amarillo Family Institute and is actively pursuing a Licensed Professional Counseling certificate under the supervision of Wib Newton, LPC-S.

Bring your daughters and friends to hear this informative evening. Refreshments will be served and free childcare will be available. Childcare reservations must be made with the church office no later than 4 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 11th.
