Look What I Made!
The girls attending the Sewing Camps in June and July had a
fun time and were so excited to learn to sew. They learned
the basics by making a pillow case (with a pocket for their
cell phone for when they attend slumber parties). Their
second project was a small first aid kit roll that can be
given to the homeless. Those girls attending both sessions
of camp worked on making a small clutch purse and bags to
hold their sewing or beach items, and sewing squares for a
quilt for charity. The girls were all excited to learn to
sew and to realize all the things they could make for
themselves and others. Some, on finishing their personal
projects have sewn pillowcase dresses for the Little Dresses
and backpacks for the students at Alara school in
Kenya. They have learned to sew, not only themselves, but to
use their new skill to make items for others.
There is one more session of camp left, however it is full
and no more reservations are being taken.
